Level 3: Team Basics

Your three Axies take up three different positions - Frontliner aka Tank, Midliner aka Utility, and Backliner aka Carry. With our starter Axies, Olek takes up the frontliner position, Buba is our Midliner, and Puffy is positioned at the back.

It is important to familiarize yourself with these positions and roles to succeed. For example the frontliner often has shield and healing cards because this is the Axie that will be targeted first. The longer the frontliner stays alive, the more damage your other two Axies have time to inflict.

Buying personal Axies is a great way to improve your team. You can build synergistic teams and teams to counter opponents on the leaderboard. You can use the filters to find Axies with specific parts/cards.

If you choose to buy a personal Axie, you can sync it to the game by going to the Axie tab from the home screen and clicking the sync button.

To create a new team, click the team button from the home screen and click ‘New Team’. You can start earning new rewards such as SLP by playing a team with personal Axies in the Arena.

Runes are power ups attached to Axies imbuing them with special abilities.

Charms are used to enhance cards.

In order to craft Runes and Charms you will need materials. Head to Adventure mode and click on the Foraging box. Here you can claim a foraging reward of experience, and moonshards. 

Click the Craft button from the home screen to go to the crafting area. 

Your crafting level is displayed at the top of the screen. You can unlock more advanced recipes by crafting and gaining experience.

The various crafting recipes are displayed on the left. The higher level crafting recipes require more materials but give you a chance at crafting rarer runes and charms.

You can also disenchant items to recover some materials. The amount of materials recovered will be less than you originally used to craft the item.

There are two ways to equip runes and charms. You can head to “Collection” and select the runes or charms categories to explore all of your collection.

Or you can go to Axie, select an Axie, and equip a rune from there. And select a card and equip a charm.

With your newly acquired knowledge head back into the ranked Arena and reach Chick IV. You will need about 5 wins to reach this rank.
