Step by step guide
There are two types of Axies - NFT Axies, also known as personal axies, and Starter Axies. Personal axies are unique axies that are owned by the player. They can be bred, collected, traded, and used in gameplay. Starter axies are free and given to players at the start of their Axie journey. Starter axies cannot be bred or traded and have limited upgrade options.
As of right now, there are 12 Starter Axies. Bing, Xia, and Buba are unlocked for all beginners. Pomodoro, Venoki, and Momo are unlocked by completing missions.
And Olec, Ena, Puffy, and Tripp are unlocked by earning XP and levelling up and claiming them in the “Road to Legend”. Road to legend is a battle pass-like system where you can unlock rewards like Moonshards, Honor Badges, Stickers and Starter Axies.
And finally Noir and Rouge can be bought through the newly introduced Gem Store.
Axie teams, also known as team comps, consist of 3 unique Axies. The placement of Axies within the team is important because, in Origins, attacks are made against the front Axie unless the attack states otherwise. That means that you should keep the Axie with the most HP or healing and shield capabilities in the front to keep your other Axies alive as long as possible. This position is known as the frontliner or the Tank. It is also a good idea to keep the Axie with the most attacking capabilities in the back. This is known as the backliner, damage-dealer, or carry. The midliner position can have offensive or defensive cards, or a mix of both. This position is known as the Support.
This is a general guide for team composition but as you play you will learn that not all teams follow these rules. For instance there are team compositions that are designed to target their attacks. Playing against a team like this it will be less relevant where your damage dealer is placed.
To enhance your Axie, navigate to the Axie you want to upgrade then click the up arrow. There are material requirements for enhancing an Axie’s card. For the first enhancement you will need 500 Honor Medals, and 5 Badges of the same type as the card. For example, to enhance Buba’s Sparky card you will need 5 Beast Badges.
Enhancing this card will increase the Axie’s base HP by 5 points, the attack damage will increase from 60 to 65, and our allied Axies will receive +1 rage when this card is played - not just Buba himself.
As you enhance more cards, the meter in the bottom left will fill up and you will earn rewards. Once you have enhanced all 6 of your Axies cards, you will unlock the ability to promote that Axie. To do so, you will need a lot more Honor and Class Badges - but in return your Axie will have an additional 20HP and even have a slight change in its appearance.
